Brushless maintenance free design allows
worry free operation with outstanding longevity.
Single stage excitation provides fast
response time for droop, overshoot, and
recovery time cycles. Time constants
are cut in half as compared to traditional
machines with two stage excitation using
a pilot excitor.
High speed operation creates a design
limit of 56 inches (142 cm) outside diameter
rotor for 2 pole operation at 3600 RPM
synchronous speeds with a theoretical
limit of 1.5 megawatts in a length of
60 inches (152 cm). These specs are for
air cooled machinery and can be improved
with other cooling methods. The numbers
in smaller sizes are equally impressive.
Self regulation of the voltage output
is practical using compound field windings.
We can control efficiency, power factor
and voltage with a separately excited
field and voltage regulator.
Size and weight are lower than conventional
two stage brushless machine designs.
Bearing free operation is possible utilizing
drive bearing support.
